What does Awana mean?
A - Approved
W - Workmen
A - Are
N - Not
A - Ashamed
The acronym is derived from 2 Timothy 2:15 which says: "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."
The emphasis of AWANA is Bible memorization. Each week the young person is challenged to recite various scripture passages that teach them about God, Christ, salvation, and many other things!
AWANA has a special time for games, handbooks and an appropriate challenge from the Bible. It is an exciting program filled with fun competition and prizes.
There are several AWANA clubs based on age groups:
Cubbies - Three and four-year-olds
Sparks - Kindergarten through 2nd grade
T&T (Truth and Training)- 3rd through 6th grade
Our Awana program is held every Wednesday at 6:45. We also offer a meal at 6:15 for those who are interested. Our teen program and Adult Bible Study meet at the same time, so come with the whole family!
